Alternate NBA 2K9 Cover-AI

Allen Iverson has been my favorite player in the NBA since Jordan left the Bulls in 99, I personally can't stand to see him in another Eastern Conference team's jersey, but I did this custom cover in spite on the Pistons UGLY jerseys. lol

The Ambassador-Gimme Dat

DON'T SELL YOUR BIRTHRIGHT

Esau, Jacob, and the Birthright
Genesis 25:30-34

30. And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

31. And Jacob said, Sell me this day your birthright.

32. And Esau asid, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this do to me?

33. And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

34.Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles, and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

You are probably wondering, what does this have to do with me. We as born-again Christians, have been given a birthright from God the father. Our birthright is eternal life in heaven and our holiness. Holiness is to be set apart, to be different from the world. Christ said "Be thou holy, because I am holy." All we have to do is live a godly and just life while we are on earth, our temporary home.

However, every time we submit to our fleshly desires, ie. sex, drugs, parties, music etc., we are in a sense selling our birthright by allowing people to lump us with the people of the world, that's why people are turned off by the Word of God, because the people who are in the church act exactly the same as the people who aren't in the church.

So I charge and challenge you, my brothers and sisters in Christ, to strive to live Christ-like, ask yourself before you do anything, "Would Jesus (fill in the blank)?" more often the answer is NO!!!!!

God is not trying to cramp your style or keep you from having fun, He's trying to guard you from becoming a slave to sin. That's why when people do drugs, drink or have sex, it often becomes a habit. Today's society would call that an addiction, or a disease. I agree with that, but it is an addiction or disease of sin, and Dr. God has the only prescription, acceptance of Jesus Christ as your savior and submission of your life to Him.

May God bless and keep you through these trying and difficult times.

"Life ain't what it seems, but seems to appeal, to our appetite so just for a single meal
we sell our birthrights, now that's senseless like, trading in your motorcyle for a dirtbike
earth's aight but turn on a searchlight, and you'll notice that a new pair of Jordan's are some hurt nikes"

Who should be the NBA ROY?

Most casual fans will say that, just by numbers, Memphis guard,  O.J. Mayo, is the front runner for the NBA Rookie of the Year Award, and for the most part, I agree, he is having a great season averaging 19 points, 4 rebounds, and shooting 44 percent from the floor, 88 percent from the free throw line, and 37 percent from three-point land, all after a controversial off-season.

But are there any other candidates for the crown?

I'll make the case for some under-publicized first year players having good seasons.

Marc Gasol- Yes the same Marc Gasol who started for Spain alongside his All-Star brother Pau in this past summers Olympic Games. Even though he was drafted by the Lakers in the 2nd round of the 2007 NBA draft, he is technically a rookie this season after playing overseas last season. He is currently Memphis' starting center and is showing some true skill, averaging 11 points (8th among rookies) and 7 rebounds (3rd among rookies) a game and shooting 52 percent(5th among rookies with at least 30 games played) from the field, and he is the fourth scoring option of the Grizzlies. He probably won't win, but he deserves a bit of recognition.

Kevin Love- The former UCLA center is averaging better than 8 points and 8 rebounds a game, off of the bench! He is 5th among all players in offensive rebounds with 136 boards. He is averaging 17.6 rebounds per 48 minutes, good for fourth in the NBA. So far in January, he has yet to have less than 7 rebounds in a game. In my book, giving your team more possessions is EXTREMELY valuable.

Mario Chalmers- Miami's rookie point guard is ranked 7th in steals per game, and 6th in total steals. He's proving to be a lock down defender on the perimeter. He has 12 games this season with at least 3 swipes, 7 of which he had 4 or more. He had 9 steals in a single game(against my Sixers, ugh) but he's putting it down in Miami. He's also shooting 36 percent from beyond the arc.

Most of us know about Derrick Rose (Chicago), Michael Beasley (Miami) , Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City), and Greg Oden (Portland, and last years #1 overall pick). These are just some cats to keep an eye out for , they may break into the starting lineup (Love) begin to post better numbers (Gasol), or my cause an impact in the playoff hunt(Chalmers). You just never know.

Romans 1:16

For I am unashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Be unashamed of the Gospel!!!!

Trip Lee's 20/20

Yet another banger from the 116/Reach Records camp. With hot collabs with Lecrae, Cam, FLAME, Tedashii, and Sho Baraka, this album is a definite must buy and BLAST this in ya stereo. This album is a true blessing!

2009 NBA All-Star Game Jerseys

This year's all-star game will be held in Phoenix, and these jersey's while not my favorite are a vast improvement over last years version. (Hope Iggy gets one of these this year)

Dream Closer to Fruition: BLACK PRESIDENT by Tony Timberlake III (ME)

50 years ago, we were fighting for civil rights

On November 4th, we stayed up all night

Cause it appears that we’ve turned a new page in the war

We’ve passed our fears, and we’re still here

Despite racism, and prejudice

For years we’ve dreamed of this

A BLACK PRESIDENT

That breaks the precedent

Of all the former Presidents

He stands out from them all

Barack, stay strong, trust in the Lord

Pray for guidance and you won’t fall

Even if you do, God is still there

We have a black president

Dr. King dreamed of this

We have equal footing

We’re not quite singing together

But we’re closer to harmony

Streets are full of shooting

The government is concerned with the weather

But we’re closer to the song we

Shall OVERCOME

R-Swift Featuring Iz-Real- Lifetime

Shai Linne's Storiez

Is on of THE BEST ABLUMS I've heard in a long time.

If you are a fan of hip-hop, this is a very original, thought provoking album. It's very challenging for the believer, and each lyric is beautifully constructed by this master wordsmith, all for the glory of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

I give the album 8.5/10

MY SIXERS

I am an avid Philadelphia 76ers fan, and I have been since I began to seriously follow basketball.

Entering, the season expectations were high, after pushing the Detroit Pistons to six games in the 1st round of the playoffs last season, and after acquiring star Power Forward Elton Brand, we were expected to push for one of the top four seeds in the Eastern conference.

After a slow start that included the firing of head coach Mo Cheeks (one of my favorite coaches in the NBA) and an injury to Brand, my favorite player Andre Iguodala has stepped his game UP! Iguodala's numbers(17.5 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 5.3 apg) are great, but it seems that his game has returned to last years level.

Iguodala went over 20 points in a game only 3 times with Brand in the lineup during the 25 games Brand played in. Since the injury to Brand Iguodala, has been over 20 points eleven times in only 16 games, more importantly, he has not been held under double digit points, something he did 5 times in the games Brand played in. Those games were against Miami, New York, Boston, Chicago, and Milwaukee.

I feel AI2 is feeling a bit more assertive and comfortable in the offense without Brand on the floor, and it shows, he has played huge against San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, Portland, Atlanta, Utah, and Denver. All of which are pretty solid if not above-average NBA teams.

Let's go AI2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
